John and Mickey Tousignant are slowly developing their property in the Bush of Alaska and are in hopes of one day being able to offer the real Alaska Bush country experience to wheelchair and other users. Days prior to the 2005 moose hunt in North Pole I took a one hour bush country flight with John to their property to help them develop a direction to suit wheelchair users in the future. They are coming along well and will soon be able to offer adventure experiences to most anyone. The Alaska Bush is not for everyone, no running water, outhouse, battery and generator lighting. Hot showering is an option as John has installed freshwater on demand showers so not all comforts are lost. |
