Dan begins the gentle process of ensuring a solid hookup on his sailfish with guidance from our experienced first mate Mark.

It was agreed that Mark was the best mate or guide that any of us had ever had the pleasure of fishing with, he made sure that everyone of us was more than taken care of during every minute of our trip.

The well deserved prize after a great fight, this fish fought Dan for a solid 20 minutes and was not to be taken lightly. Dan had transferred from his wheelchair to a fighting chair on the deck and to quote our boat Captain "This is the first time someone on my boat has ever landed a sailfish with their feet up". Dan had gotten comfortable with his legs up on his wheelchair when the battle began

Dan did a spectacular job in battling this fish to the boat guided by the fabulous crew of the Blue Chip Too. We learned that landing a sailfish with their tremendous strength and desire not to be caught can be quite a challenge, traditional fish wrestling techniques do not apply here.
